The time has come to say a fond
farewell to our beloved Alex Sutherland. Alex passed away
suddenly on December 3rd, 2007. His love of life and
people, his passion for Scotland and its music, and his even
greater passion for his Lord and Saviour, will long be
remembered. He lived a very full life, both in the United
States and previously in Scotland and England, making friends
wherever he went. On Alex's behalf and that of his Cronies, I
would like to thank you all for your friendship and support
over the years. It's been a wonderful ride. He has left us
with lasting memories and much to smile about and be thankful
for. We look forward to being with Alex again when our time
comes to meet our Saviour, and then to spending eternity with
him.
We will close down the Cronies website in the near future but,
if you want to, messages of remembrance can still be posted on The Scotsman
or the Alex Sutherland Blog.

Auld an' New
This full-length CD features 11
of the Cronies favourite songs and is now only $10. We also came
across a copy of the cassette we made from the first live
performance Alex, accompanied by Alan, gave for the Scottish
St. Andrew Society back in 1996. It is called Songs &
Stories of Scotland with Alex Sutherland, Alive in St. Louis
and features another twelve popular Scottish folk songs. It
was so well received by everyone that Alex decided to share
the fun with others, and Alex Sutherland & His Cronies
were born. We made a CD from the cassette, and if you'd like
to enjoy his songs along with his delightful storytelling,
